Due to the fact that there is always an error rate when the vehicles are painted, the final inspection must be done with care. Faults in the vehicle surface can be hidden to be detected by the naked eye. Therefore, in order for the error-proofing personnel to have more efficient detection, contrast differences must be created with dark-light-dark light stripes on the surface as well as a saturated brightness level on the vehicle surface. The error on the vehicle surface allows the human eye to more clearly notice the transition between light strips with this different contrast. This effect created on the vehicle surface is called  zebra effect.



Glare is the discomfort that the human eye creates due to the excess light shine. The vision of the eyes looking at a light source with a high glare rate is reduced. For the clear perception of error control on the finishing lines, eyes should be not disturbed when exposed to light sources. Otherwise, it will be inevitable that even the obvious errors will not be noticed. The glare value that the eye is not disturbed according to the criteria set by the International Standards (CIE) may be a maximum of 30. Due to this reason, the luminaires used must have anti-glare properties and give computable results.



The zebra effect means the contrast differences with dark-light-dark light strips on the surface of the vehicle surface. The zebra effect provides a faster perception of the error between different light contrast strips. In order to provide this effect, the light source on the light emitting surface should not be recognized by the reflection from the vehicle surface. The width of the dark strip and the width of the light strip should be within the range of 10-15cm. In the reflection image on the vehicle surface, only the light strip as much as the surface of the reflector should be recognized, and no light glare or light source should be on the dark strip. In Revo Zebra application, the light level of the vehicle surface must be changed for vehicles with different colors for more detailed error detection control. For example, on a black vehicle surface, it is necessary to increase the light level in order to increase the perception of the Zebra effect, while it is necessary to reduce it on the surface of the white colored vehicles. The automation system must be able to perceive the color of each vehicle, since different colored vehicles may pass can pass through the same finishing line one after another. Color detection can be achieved with EAE Automation Systems.
